Hello World!Well welcome to our new website! Most people use blogs for fashion tips or write clever and creative artsy fartsy things about their lives, but I can think of a better way to kick of my blogspot than with FOOD starring STEAK!! Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE MEAT and since I’ve been in Lubbock for the past 3 years finishing up my DPT the best (and most popular) place to eat steak is TEXAS ROADHOUSE! The price, environment, and butter cinnamon rolls are bar none the best in town. The place is always packed and even on graduation weekend, Minh and I were gonna have to wait for 2- 2 ½ hours( and this is with calling ahead!) Whenever Minh or family comes to town a must consists of making a pit stop at this steak house but I’ve heard that Lubbock has great steak places that are a little more pricey but delish nonetheless! A few places suggested are Cagles, Double Nickel, 50 yard line, and Las Brisas. The two most consistent reviews have been Cagels and Las Brisas so I put that on my “ Places to eat before I leave Lubbock forever” list. I am excited because I decided to go to Las Brisas on my last night in Lubbock with some good friends (will post pictures of that!). But tonight a bunch of my good friends decided to go to Cagels on a spur of the moment idea. (You don’t have to twist my arm to eat meat at anytime of day...EVER…including snack time...like a meat kabob) This place is similar to The Salt Lick in Austin so that makes this place promising in my eyes. First of all, it is located in no mans land with nothing around it (between Lubbock and Levelland…second..it looks like a ranch instead of a restaurant….third, there are 4 buildings that surrounding it so you don’t know which one is the “main” building( other buildings include a reception hall, a bar, another open space, a house, and the restaurant itself) and lastly, there is a small little carousel outside that you can put a quarter in an ride (suggested by my friends for my to try out but not attempted due to the fact that you have to be under 2 feet tall to ride it) So I’m thinking to myself, what kind of place is this? And let me tell you, ITS BLOODY FANTASTIC!!!!!! The best steak I’ve had in Lubbock and in general! I was super impressed but the group of friends that I went with stated that Las Brisas is slightly better (by a small tiny itty bitty margin) Well Ill be the judge of that. But for now, Cagels you have my vote. The meat was soooo tender and well seasoned and cooked to perfection! The sides were phenomenal and the best fries I’ve had in a long time. It was a great meal with GREAT COMPANY. We laughed, we ate, we laughed some more, and then we all walked to our cars in the rain. Lovely!
